John Steggerda

John Steggerda, age 79, of Holland, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024.

John graduated from Holland High School and then went on to graduate from Barber College. He enjoyed horseback riding and bowling. He was employed by Donnelly Mirrors, A.D. Bos and most recently was employed by the City of Holland Parks Department. John and the family lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 8 years. His claim to fame was being born on flag day. John was also a longtime member of Beechwood Church. He was loved by everyone that knew him and he will truly be missed.

John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mrs. Christine Steggerda; children, Jeff (Kristen) of Michigan City, Indiana, James of Holland, Russell of Holland; step-son, Keith (Jenny) Van Dam; grandson, Scott (Cyndi) of Alaska; brother, Kim (Jan) of Holland; sister, Eddie (Carol) Fail of Florida.

The family will receive visitors on from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, on Friday, April 26, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland. A funeral ceremony will be held following visitation at 1:00pm at the Northwood Chapel. Pastor Aaron Westhouse officiating. Burial will take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Holland.
